Apex Planner Licensing

By: Gabriele Silvagni / 27 Apr 2016 in Apex Planner

How Apex Planner license works

Each license is bound to a single organization: it can be used only for the CRM organization on which it was activated. The license key limits the number of users and the time interval. You can see the maximum number of users allowed and the expiration date on the Global Configuration.

Suppose that you have a license for 50 users that expires on January 1. If your organization has more than 50 active users or if the current date is over January 1, the Planner reports an error. You will see in the next paragraphs how to limit the number of users that you need to license.

Involved environments
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2016 (8.0.1.88)
  • Microsoft SharePoint Online (16.0.0.1219)

SCENARIO

Today I created a brand new custom entity on a Dynamics CRM organization named Partner Agreement (schema name apx_partneragreement). Since many documents will be attached to each record and SharePoint integration was already set up I enabled the new entity  for Document management on SharePoint.
Once configured I expected it to work like a charm. Hence I created a test record to play with and once I got to Documents I was prompted to create a folder.
1
Since it was the first time creating a SharePoint folder related to my new entity the “parent” folder apx_partneragreement had to be created in order to host all record specific folders such as Test-1_blablabla
I confirmed folder creation and to my surprise…I faced the following error.
Error – File cannot be found – Folder Path Not Configured
